A Gift for Teaching

During the last week of January, Jackson Therapy Partners held a one-week rush to collect new, packaged pairs of underwear and socks to fit elementary-age children for A Gift for Teaching. So far, the company has collected 238 pairs of socks and briefs and $190 cash for these students in need...and the donations are still rolling in!

There are an estimated 6,500 homeless students attending public schools in the tri-county service area of Central Florida. In addition to the children who have periodic accidents, there are students whose feet are soaked because they walked to school in one of Florida's  downpours. For these students, laundry may be done infrequently and hygiene becomes an issue.

A Gift For Teaching works to ensure that underprivileged students in the Central Florida community have the basic tools necessary to succeed in school and life by collecting and distributing the community's surplus supplies and merchandise and distributing it to students in need through the free store for teachers. A Gift For Teaching is an independently operated 501(c)3 non-profit organization solely funded through the community, including corporations, foundations and individuals.
